The words and phrases that people use to describe themselves have always fascinated me. How do you capture yourself in one short sentence? I haven't managed to do it, but any and all of the quick one-liners below describe me. What would you do?
****
I cook, knit, and can solve your problems in reciprocal space.
****
Female PhD in chemistry. Unemployed.
****
Mid-forties divorcee, remarried, two children, dog, house.
****
A lot smaller than you expect me to be.

There are many others, obviously, but these are the ones that immediately spring to mind. When you read a sentence about a person, you'll form a mental image based on your own experiences. It is unlikely that you will form an accurate mental image, but you will begin to form ideas about a person, and you will probably fill in the blanks they've left for you. You will likely make judgements and you may even decide whether or not you like the person. Isn't that a strange thing, to make a decision like that based on a few words?
